Adventures from an Anglesey Wedding Photographer

MY FAVOURITE ROUTE TO the isle of Anglesey as an Anglesey wedding photographer is to drive the swiftly winding A5. This route takes you alongside the stunning Llyn Ogwen and the picturesque town of Bethesda before arriving at the beautiful old Menai Suspension Bridge which was built in 1826 by Thomas Telford. Turn left. At the end of the road you will find Newborough Forest and the car park behind the beach dunes. All around you are tall Corsican pines, stretches of golden sand and Marram grass.

FOR A FEBRUARY AFTERNOON there was certainly a unique feel to the island as we headed over the dunes. There was no wind at all, barely a wave, surprisingly mild and from certain viewpoints the Menai Straight looked like that old cliche of a mill pond. Walk along the beach for a short distance and you soon come to Llanddwyn beach and island. We simply took a long walk, exploring as we went and absorbing the ever changing views when navigating around the island.
